I "H-word" doctors.
Yup, I said it, and I don't care if the Big Bad Google-People squash my visibility over saying it---because that's how I feel.
Don't get me wrong: I know there are TONS of great doctors out there who are great at what they do, and maybe they are even empathetic as well. What I'm really referring to is the majority of them, churned out of med schools at the same pace that puppy mills churn out puppies.
I'm talking about the ones who are in it because it's a J.O.B. and provides status and prestige. The ones who are not interested in problem solving to help you, in fact, they largely don't even see you as an individual.
Let me repeat that: They Don't See You At All.
Seriously, how many times have you sat in the doctor's office, ready to fire off your question for them when they enter the room, but instead, the doctor comes in ---(doesn't look at you, by the way)---and starts talking, never giving you a chance to ask your question? In fact, never giving you an opportunity at all to explain why you're even there in the first place?
And yet, we pay them. What's more, we'll go back and see them again!
I mean, can you even think of any other industry where you pay for a service that you don't get, and then go back for more?
Now, if you're like most people, you see your doctor because something is going on with your health that's causing a problem, and you want help with that problem, in the form of either a solution or, at the very least, an explanation. You have an expectation that they will hear your complaint, understand it, and most of all: they’ll be able to help you with your complaint.
Tragically, this is not what happens at all, because this is not how the healthcare industry operates anymore.
You see, in today's world, doctors spend years in med school studying human anatomy & physiology, biochemistry, physiology, disease and what-pharmaceuticals-go-with-what-disease. What they don't study is basic nutrition and how it relates to health and wellness.
In other words, your doctor is not going to be able to identify, say, a Vitamin B6 deficiency, even though there are plenty of markers on standard blood testing that will reveal this. In fact, because he or she is not trained in anything "nutrition-related", it will get overlooked on your standard blood tests, and you will be ushered out the door with your doctor telling you "Everything looks good!" Unfortunately, in the case of a B6 deficiency, it affects so many things like how your brain functions, how your liver functions, and how your immune system functions, to name a few, so everything is not good.
The thing is --your gut instinct and your body has been telling you that everything is not good. I mean, if everything were good, why on earth would you be in the doctors' office in the first place?
And since your doctor hasn't studied nutrition, what would he know about a nutritional deficiency anyway?
You see, nutrition is the scientific study of food and nourishment, and nutrients are the all the chemical components that make up a food. Your body needs nutrients to survive, and if your food doesn't have any nutrients...
...how long do you think you're going to survive?
We would never think of putting Kool-Aid in our cars instead of gas, yet we put Kool-Aid and donuts and Cokes into our bodies---and wonder why we don’t feel so great. And then what do we do? We go see a doctor, because when we don’t feel well, that’s just what we do.
Unfortunately, --I'll say it again: your doctor isn't going to be able to help the years of Kool-Aid, Coke and donut damage. Your body is breaking down, just like your car would if you gave it Kool-Aid, Coke and donuts.
And to illustrate how the medical world colossally fails - instead of addressing what you're putting into your body and helping you to make changes, your doctor will prescribe medicine to cover up all the symptoms that you're having...because hey, that's what he or she's trained to do.
Does that sound like "health care" to you?
Look, it's not up to the medical system to look after your health. You have to look after your own health, and doing that requires someone who knows how to teach you and guide you--and it's not your doctor.
A health coach or practitioner that's trained in functional medicine principles will help you get to the root of what’s causing your health issues.
Doctors may mean well, (some of them actually do), but they lack the nutritional knowledge needed to address those nagging yet persistent health issues that don't fall within the guidelines of some "diagnosis". And so, they resort to prescription medications.
Now, you can try to self-diagnose and Google-search the answers on your own, but trust me--because I was just like you--even your best efforts are going to end in both futility and frustration if you go at it alone.
So PLEASE! Don’t waste any more of your time and frustration, as well as your hard earned money doing it the wrong way.
Take it from me: do it one time, the right way...NOT like I did --the wrong way, trying to figure it out all on my own, making mistake after mistake after mistake, year after year.
I mean, don't you want to get better?
Because you can do it without doctors...
...and without medicine.
It's time for you to take control over your own health and stop thinking doctors will do it for you.
If you are fed-up with doctors, fed up with medicine, and just absolutely frustrated because you can't get the help you need with your health --- DON'T Google-search anything else!
