We expect “doctors” to make us better—you know, cure us. Over time we end up just accepting our sub-par health as “normal”.
Our bodies give us signals when something is wrong, and our failure to interpret these signals adds up over time, with those signals becoming louder and more prominent. ‘Small things’ like allergies and fatigue are actually signals that something is going on in your body and you'd better pay attention.
Consequently, we end up spending so much of our time managing "symptoms" and living with a diminished quality of life because we have no answers other than those vague ones given to us by our traditional "doctors".
Did you know that med students today only take an average of 27 hours of nutrition-based study during their whole time in medical school !!--out of 8 to 10 years of schooling!
We can never quite wrap our heads around the fact that it's nutrition -–what we are putting into our bodies-- that has everything to do with how we feel, and that nutrition is the key to great health.
What they did eat were foods high in vitamins and minerals, animal fats (meaning butter, lard and tallow), and organ meats. Plus 60-80% of their diet was enzyme-rich — either fermented or raw. I think most importantly, they prepared their foods according to centuries old traditions--cooking.
